I've got a basic framework written that also compiles nicely into a shared library (which is a big step for me as I've never done that before). Now I have to work on porting over all the Euphoria code to C++. Using classes, OOP, and other C++ "tricks" should really help streamline the entire component.

I've begun re-writing the wxSyntax component directly in C++ with wxWidgets. This will hopefully benefit the entire wxWidgets community, rather than just us wxEuphoria users by giving everyone a simple syntax highlighting component. wxStyledTextControl (a.k.a. Scintilla) is a bit of overkill IMHO.

Blah. That "brief hold" I mentioned last year seems to be turning into an "indefinite" hold. Progress on Euphoria 4.0 seems to be going a lot slower than I anticipated. I am investigating the use of various in-built wxEuphoria features to augment the methods I'm trying to develop in native Euphoria.
